Join WASRG Wednesday, May 29 at 1:30 PM ET for an end-of-session recap with Cristine Almeida and Stephen Rubis of Almeida Public Affairs in Minneapolis. They will join us to share key takeaways on what was done this session and what’s been left for consideration next year.
Cristine Almeida has over 25 years experience in politics and public policy. She founded Almeida Public Affairs in 2006, after spending several years in private practice as an attorney and as Chief of Staff of the Minnesota Senate. Highlights of her successful legislative, issue and candidate campaigns include the Minnesotans United for All Families electoral and legislative efforts; the Clean Water, Land and Legacy constitutional amendment campaign; and her role as Senior Advisor to then-Congressman Tim Walz on his successful gubernatorial campaign. Almeida is a graduate of the William Mitchell College of Law and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an alumnus of the German Marshall Fund Fellows program and the Humphrey Institute Policy Fellows Program. She is also a member and former officer of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association.
Stephen Rubis joined Almeida Public Affairs in January 2022 after gaining 14 years of legislative experience as the top House Republican staffer on the Taxes and Property Tax Committees. He is most proud of his work around student loan relief and 529 college savings plans. Stephen is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead.
